Haylie Grace, 6 months, 2 weeks old

Recap of Summer

Well, now that it's Fall, I thought I would just do a recap on the past summer, because I have not had any time to get on my blog to write anything as of late.

Lukas is pretty happy with Haylie being mobile and more able to play with him. He has his moments, of course, where he would prefer she not touch all of his stuff, but that's normal!

They play together a lot now and it is so cute! :)

The kids really loved visiting the park all year! They always have a blast :).

My husband worked A LOT of hours following an even crazier schedule, but we got time together in spite of this and have had another amazing year! I can't wait to celebrate the holidays with our family!

I love this man so much! He makes me so happy and I am so lucky to have him! He spoils me rotten, and is always there for me. He has been my rock and my workout buddy, and together we have achieved many goals this year.

Spooky Balloon Ball Game

You will need black balloons and white glow in the dark paint.

Blow up all the balloons, then decorate them with Halloween faces (ghouls, Frankenstein, ghosts, bats, witches etc) of your choice.

Have kids sit in their chairs in a circle and tell them they can't move out of their seat during the entire game, if they do the game is over and has to start all over again.

Hit the balloon around in the air from where you or the kids sit into the circle, and let the kids keep hitting it up until it touches the floor, then begin a new game.

If your kids are older and want more of a challenge, simply line the chairs up like players in a volleyball game, so they are facing each other and hitting the balloon back and fourth. Amp up the spooky atmosphere by turning the lights off and hitting the glow in the dark painted balloon around that way.

Keeping score is best when playing with the older kids. When the first team hits the balloon and it falls to the ground on the other teams' side, then the first team scores a point, and vice versa with the opposite team. You can make up whatever number you want the score to be to end the game, (i.e the first team with 10 points wins the game).

The challenge is the kids, no matter what their age, have to stay in their seats the entire game or it has to start over. :)

How I Apply My Mascara without clumps

While I don't do fiber lashes and I decided to stick with my trusty Maybelline mascara, I wanted to help in case anyone is wondering how to better apply those fiber lashes without them coming out clumpy and uneven. :)

My lashes looked awful the first time I tested these fiber lashes. I was ready to toss it but something made me hold on to it (probably my money saving self not willing to let mascara go to waste), and so I started to experiment with them.

Here is how I discovered a great way to apply this mascara without my  lashes looking like a sticky, clumpy mess:

Step 1: Begin with a clean, scrubbed face free of all mascara.

Step 2: Brush your lashes with an eyelash brush.

Step 3: apply fiber lash mascara, using a "Z" motion figure as you pull the wand outward away from your eye. Do it lightly, not hard, and do it as fast as possible, not super slow.

Step 4: Take your eyelash brush and brush out your lashes. Trust me on this. This is the most crucial step besides step 1.

Step 5: Apply your second coat, either another coat of fiber lash mascara, or the second coat can be from your favorite trusty mascara as well. I find either one works. Use the same motion as in step 3.

Be sure to remove any tiny clumps that might have been pulled outward from your lash line with the very tips of your fingers, very gently.

Viola! Beautiful, clumpless lashes that look natural and amazing!

On The Hunt for a Good History Book

I am shameless book worm. I don't care if people think that makes me nerdy. I would wear the title "nerd" with pride if it was mine jsut for being smart.

I've been on a war kick lately. I've always loved history . . . And I've always read books on history, too. It was my most loved subject in school as well.

I read a book titled The Dark Summer years ago, and loved it. I go to the library every chance I get (that's how much I read) and pick up some good books, which will be whatever I am in the mood for at the time. I read a wide variety of books. Anything interests me as long as I am elarning from it or interested in the plot and characters.

Of course, in history, everything seems to interest me! Especially our world, and wars, and politics. While I'm not necessarily on any one side there, on the subject of politics, and have always considered myself a middle-of-the-road type of gal, probably because I know and understand way too much about politics and every angle, in spite of that I really love politics. I always have.

Maybe it's also because my husband's been reading a lot of the enws lately and has been sharing with me a lot of what is going on witht he wars, and it must have sparked that mood up in me to find a good book on war and government and history. I can't decide on which subject I need exactly, so I am going to anturally pick up about 6 different books on all those subjects haha.

The one at the top of my list? How Hitler Could Have Won WWII: The Fatal Errors That Led To Nazi Defeat by Bevin Alexander. Don't judge me. I told you I read ANYTHING.

I am of European blood, so I suppose that's where my love of European hsitory, literature and culture stems from. But I've always enjoyed all world hsitory and all types of literature from all over the place, and not jsut on the suybject of wars or politics, but immigration and the witch hunts and everything else in between. I'm sure once the snow starts falling I'll be back into my mood for a mystery like Sherlock Holmes or whatever, maybe even a holiday chick lit book, but right now I am on a history hunt.

I found this book and am waiting impatiently for it to arrive at the store. It's probably been way too long since I've read a hsitory book and I am kicking myself in the butt for not getting something sooner. I think the last books I read involving history were the Lewis and Clark journals.

Let me tell you . . . Those journals were GREAT! I would read them fifty times over.

Toning My Midsection

So, toning my midsection has been way easier than I thought! I am already seeing definition and I've only started hitting the ab work outs harder for about 1 week.

(Before ab workout routines started, I had a small mommy pooch yet).

After ab workout routines started, and my pooch shrunk completely in one week. So I kept going).

Definition and getting a six pack pretty fast now! My abs are firm and lean and toned and I'm so happy with the results I am seeing!

I apologize that some of these pictures are blurry or have poor lighting but I've been taking them from my phone and they don't always turn out that great, plus I don't exactly have a steady hand sometimes! Haha

Anyway, I'm stoked! It's definitely been great motivation to keep at it and hopefully I will see the definition I am aiming for before the holidays roll around. :)
